Carol Pounder Art
Artist
Carol Pounder works a full time job as a manager, but is also known as a painter. Her paintings can be found in many private collections. Inspired by nature she captures the imagination. Working primarily in acrylics, experimenting with watercolour, and more recently with airbrushing, she challenges herself to learn new techniques to produce a realistic representation of what is seen.Born in Birmingham, England, Carol later moved to Lincolnshire where she lived in the picturesque village of Goxhill until she moved to Nova Scotia, Canada in 2008 with husband Dean.Carol is a self-taught artist for the most part, but admits she came from an artistic family. Her father painted in oils, both brothers are talented artists and her uncle is also known for his beautiful artwork. She studied art in high school but didn't take up painting seriously until 2012.Horses have been a major influence throughout her life. Owning, caring for and riding from a young age and spending so much time outdoors helped to instill an appreciation of all that is nature.Carol has exhibited artwork at the McCarthy Gallery, Truro, NS, and the Raven Gallery, Tatamagouche, NS, and was featured in the Truro Daily News About Art in 2015, and is a recent member of the Northumberland Arts Council.
